Wiseman Wingate Solicitors offer a wide range of legal services, such as Personal Injury and Professional Negligence. As there will be different answers to the same questions depending on the area of law, we have listed out our FAQ’s below by the area of law they are relevant to.
Clinical Negligence, Personal Injury and Professional Negligence Litigation
Q: How much will my instruction to Wiseman Wingate cost me?
A: As Clinical Negligence, Personal Injury and Professional Negligence Litigation Cases allow us to claim the legal costs from the defendant if the claim is successful, we are able to deal with under your claim under a ‘No Win No Fee Agreement’.
There is one alternative option for cases where a baby suffers a brain injury shortly before or after birth: Legal Aid is available.
‘No Win No Fee Agreement’
The gist of a ‘No Win No Fee Agreement’ is:
- You do not pay anything if your claim is unsuccessful, i.e. we do not obtain compensation for you.
- If your claim is successful, i.e. we obtain compensation for you, you make a contribution to our fees out of your compensation.
Q: How long will it take for my instruction to Wiseman Wingate to be completed?
A: The answer is it depends on a number of factors such as;
- The complexity of the case.
- The number of experts to be instructed. The opinions of the experts will form the ‘foundations’ of the claim.
- Whether the Defendant admits or denies liability.
- Whether your case has to ‘go to trial’ or whether a settlement be reached with the defendant before the issuing of Court proceedings or before trial.
We always keep our client informed of developments in their case and we set a timetable laying out the various stages of the litigation so that the client is fully aware of the length of time the case will possibly take.
Q: Who will be dealing with my instruction to Wiseman Wingate?
A: Your case will be dealt with by a highly experienced solicitor, we do not allow junior members of staff to run client cases although they may assist a senior solicitor.
Wills and Trusts
Q: How much will my instruction to Wiseman Wingate cost me?
A: Before accepting instructions, we always explain to the client what we plan to do in terms of the nature of the documents to be drafted, the total fee to be charged.
Q: How long will it take?
A: For the majority of instructions, a period of 2 or 3 weeks is sufficient.
Q: Who will be dealing with my instruction to Wiseman Wingate?
A: Your case will be dealt with by a highly experienced solicitor, we do not allow junior members of staff to run client cases although they may assist a senior solicitor.
Court of Protection/Deputyships
Q: How much will my instruction to Wiseman Wingate cost me?
A: For work of this nature we always accept the sum that the Court of Protection awards as the monies are paid out of the funds we manage for the client.
Q: Who will be dealing with the Deputyship?
A: The deputyship will be dealt with by a highly experienced solicitor. We do however ensure that work untaken is untaken as cheaply as possible, where appropriate that includes task being undertaken by junior members of staff.
We are very conscious that our obligation to our client is to manage their funds as efficiently and cheaply as possible to preserve the fund for the benefit of the client.
